From Brooklyn, via Alabama and Athens, Georgia, Phosphorescent has produced an album dripping in American folk and gospel influences. The strongest point of reference is Will Oldham circa Palace Brothers, but there's a definite streak of Spiritualized in those melodies. A classy release.
