The title, borrowed from a phrase in Mark Twain's The Mysterious Stranger, hints at the record's fascination with memory, mortality, and the passage of time. Singer Ian Felice's gravel-worn voice delivers vivid narratives that move effortlessly between the intimate and the mythic on songs such as "Penn Station," "Sailor Song," and "Cooperstown," . Humour and heartbreak coexist throughout, with moments of raucous energy sitting comfortably alongside quiet reflections on loss, hope, and redemption.

From the haunting 'Sailor Song' to the masterful lyricism of 'Buried In Ice' we are on solid Felice Brothers territory. Great instrumentation that folks and shanties up the pace, crafty vocals that are sugary and bitter at the same time. A fine slice of Americana and recommended to the max.
