Michigan trio Breathe Owl Breathe have forged an album from their log-cabin base that holds a slightly shambolic, spontaneous feel as acoustic guitar, cello, banjo + piano gather round dual male/female vocals. Reference points could be Low Anthem, Karen Dalton, An acoustic Pavement or Velvet Underground balladry (especially Mo Tucker's) in a set full of twists, turns and unexpected songwriting quirks.
