The Nyege Nyege artist was born in Kenya and raised in Uganda, MC Yallah has been involved in East Africa's rap scene since 1999. Alternating rhymes in Luganda, Luo, Kiswahili and English, her conscious, poetic and experimental style was slow to creep into Uganda's mainstream.

In 2019 she worked with Debmaster and released the acclaimed debut "Kubali" on the Hakuna Kulala label.

The finished album is an international patchwork of futuristic cyber-rap experiments fastened together by Yallah's unforgettable personality and elastic flow.

Debmaster Is a French producer who has lived in Berlin for over 10 years, and back in 2015 he was brought into the Nyege Nyege collective producing beats for various artists which lead him to working with MC Yallah.

BFTT

The Manchester-based producer makes a glitchy form of club music, with a heavy use of vocal samples that results in a funky vibe that is bloody magic! His brilliant new LP was released on the TT label last year, after previous releases on Gobstopper, AD93, and Cong Burn.

BFTT is part of the Mutualism collective, runs the YCO label with AYA, he adds so much to make the scene a more exciting place and is another reason why we wanted to bring him to Leeds.
